More Running

Ran another three miles last night. I was all for it until I got onto the treadmill...then I just wanted to go home. But, I persevered and ran the entire time, in just slightly under my Saturday time. Okay, it was only 2/100 of a second faster...but if I would have been in a better running mood, I totally would have beat it!

My house is a disaster area. I don't know how it happened. How can one person make such a mess?!

Not much going on this weekend...Getting baptised on Sunday afternoon, but I think that's about it. If it is nice tomorrow, maybe I will try running around Greenlake.

See Nikki Run

So I have this crazy idea to run a 5k. I found one in May, in Kirkland, so I think that's a reasonable enough time to prepare. I've been running on the treadmill for quite some time now, but I thought a goal might be more motivating. Yesterday I ran three miles on the treadmill without any walking incline breaks. I consider this a victory. However, it took a little over a half hour to do so (34:23 to be precise). Obviously I am going to have to drastically reduce this time, but hey, this is a starting point. And I will have to tack on a bit of distance since I think a 5k is technically 3.2 miles or something, but really that negligible. Although, maybe at the end of the race, my body will not find that .2 miles all that negligible. I am not even that sore from the run yesterday like I thought that I would be. I definitely need to do strength training, though. On Thursday night I went to a class and my bootie is still sore from it. Yikes! Tonight is cross-training night: 30 minutes step, 30 minutes strength. One soccer game.

I had a horrible headache last night. It started around dinner time, which I attributed to not eating since before church and then working out and then not eating again til after 8pm. But then every time I woke up in the night, it was still there. This morning it had dissipated mostly, but I am feeling the effects of not sleeping soundly all night. I feel scrambled. I thought about staying home to work or just staying home...but it's been so long since I've worked a complete week at work that I don't want my brain to get too used to it. :)

Had a devine meal at The Melting Pot last night. :) It wasn't my first choice, but the restaurant I wanted to go to was closed for private parties on Sundays. What?? I still want to go there, though.

Snow Again

Unbelievable. More snow and freezing rain. I was actually dressed, with make no less and a necklace, and ready to go to work and looked outside and saw the snow. So here I am at home. At least I can work from home.

It was a nice weekend, nothing too exciting. No Saturday night soccer for awhile at least. Sunday was church and errands and working out. Yesterday I worked out and bummed around the house. I have casted on and have about a quarter knitted of the matching sock for the pair for Keely. Even while I am casting on, I am already thinking of the myriad of other things that I want to knit...

Oh, I did go to Bath and Bodyworks because it was their semi-annual sale. That is always an expensive trip, but I actually didn't spend as much as I've been known to in the past. I told myself that it was my reward for losing 1.5 pounds last week.

It's a good thing that I am not counting number of books per month like I always have since here it is the middle of the month and I have yet to start. Sigh...

Some Storm

All day we heard about this horrific storm on its way last night. There was snow, wind (of course), and ice predicted. In the afternoon the wind picked up and it began to rain and even sleeted a bit. Then it stopped and the sun came out. But the predictions were adament that the storm was still coming. I had plans for the evening, all the while hoping that the power didn't go out. Came out from the movie and nothing was really going on. Decided to get gas, despite fighting the temptation to not stop, just in case because I didn't want a repeat of last time. By then it was kind of snowing. Then it stopped. Then it started again. Then it stopped again. We were encouraged to take our laptops home so that we could still work in case of inclement weather, so by then I was hoping we got enough snow that I could work from home. I woke up...not really much snow, although there was ice. So I stayed home. They're still predicting snow and ice. I knew this would happen. We were kinda blindsided by the last big storm...I mean, they knew it was coming, but I never heard that it was going to be as bad as it was. It just figures that when they predict a near Armegeddon, there's barely anything. Oh well, it's a good day to work from home since it's pretty slow.

Soccer Toe

So last night at the double header, as I attempted to steal the ball from Mohawk Guy, our feel collided. I believe that my toe incurred more of the damage since he didn't fall down and kept on running after the deflected ball. It still hurts today and I am hobbling around. How did I get myself into this dangerous sport?

I am sore in general...perhaps working out for an hour before nearly two hours of soccer games wasn't the best of ideas.

It's supposed to snow here tonight/tomorrow morning. Ha! As long as I am at home, I don't care what it does.

Another Week

Why does the weekend pass so quickly? It was a pretty good weekend, although nothing too exciting. Got weighed and lost another pound...I really thought it would be more than a pound since I worked out so much. Oh well. It's not a gain. Melissa and I went shopping Saturday afternoon and then I played soccer that night. We played The Kids again...I hate that team. And they totally trounced us, too: 1-15. I don't think a team of kids should be playing adults, but whatever. Yesterday I went bowling and somehow managed to win a game, although we were cut short on the last frame of the last game, so I'll never know if I could have broken 100. I was at 93 when the lane went black. Grr. The old roommates and I used to go to that bowling alley often to play pool...it's changed a lot since then. I found myself craving pizza while I was there...and not really because I was hungry. At the bowling alley at RC, the big thing was their pizzas there so whenever I go to a bowling alley I think of pizza.

New Jeans...Er Old Jeans

So I have been getting along on one pair of jeans, one pair of dress pants, and a denim skirt for quite awhile now. I refuse to buy any more new, bigger than I am comfortable with, clothes because I have a butt ton of clothes that if I would just lose some weight, would fit me just fine. I have been very good lately with the eating and working out. This morning on a whim, I tried on a pair of jeans one size smaller than my current jeans, just to see how far away from the next size I am. Surprisingly, they fit. I was a bit confused since the current pair of jeans are not really baggy on me at all. They're both Gap jeans, although different rises. The current jeans sit lower, on my hips, while the older jeans are more of a mid rise and sit just below my navel. This is, and the fact the old jeans are, well, older and more stretched perhaps, are the only reason I can find for this pleasant surprise this morning. Gives me some encouragement going into the weigh in tomorrow. I took last night off from working out but plan on it tonight.

The even nicer things about these old jeans is that they're not obnoxiously long like the current pair that I have to wear some kind of heel with or else suffer with dragging hems.

The New Goal

I figured out my new mid-term weight loss goal. By my 33rd birthday, I want to be able to fit into the dress that I wore on my 30th birthday. I think that it's a very attainable goal since I am that far away from what I was then and my birthday is six months away. I better attain the goal before my birthday. The short term goal, of course, is to lose 10% of my current weight. But now that I think about it...they're about the same...hmmm...might have to rethink this.

Quiet Day

Got a page today, but at least it wasn't in the early morning hours and it ahered to my desire that pages be in working hours. And then, I didn't really have to do anything because my manager was online and able to fix it before I could find what needed to be removed.

Crossed off more things off my To Do List for the weekend, although there are plenty more things to take care of.

One thing I did, since the gym was closed today, was run. Outside. From my parking lot to the stoplight at 132nd is exactly a mile. However, it's not flat like the treadmill. The run to the light was fine...the run back a little more difficult because it was mostly uphill. Technically, I run more than two miles when I run on the treadmill for 40 minutes, but they say that running outside is different, supposedly running outside is easier. I think I agree with that...if it wasn't for the dumb hill, it would have been really easy. It was definitely more interesting than the treadmill. However, it was drizzling out, so that wasn't fun. But, I was impressed myself that I even did it. Running Greenlake isn't as far in the future as I thought, perhaps. Maybe I'll be able to run a 5k someday afterall.
