What I Learned About Sex From Church This Week

You know that you're going to a pretty cool church when they show this video during the service. :)

Windy

It's really windy today. I'm noq scarred for life and worry about losing electricity whenever it gets windy...

The weekend was pretty quiet. I've been working on knitting a baby blanket, which is just about done. Finished reading a book for Harper Collins. It's a thriller, which is a genre that I don't usually read, but it was fairly interesting. Thankfully didn't get paged except for Friday night...just need to get through tonight's soccer games and then I can pass the baton tomorrow.

I don't know why I am surprised, yet I was again yesterday, when there were so many people at church. Who knew that a four week series on sex would bring so many!?

Worked on a story that I started a couple months ago...it's still not done but it's getting closer. It's already eleven pages...is that still considered a "short story"?

Saturday was so nice out. I actually opened windows and the patio door to let in some fresh air. I think Mika was grateful because she wedged herself into the small opening of the patio door and sat that for quite awhile.

I've been craving playing Quiddler lately. I got it out last night and played it solitaire style.

Card War

I am not a card giver. Unless a card is so perfect or so funny that I can't resist, I generally just don't get them. And since I rarely peruse the card aisle, the chances of me finding the perfect card is slim to none. I know this is disappointing to people and as a result, I rarely get cards from family...even for my birthday! So one of my resolutions for the new year was to start sending out cards more often. The first family birthday of the year was my great-aunt. I found a funny cat card, which was perfect since she loves cats, and sent it off. A couple weeks later she sent me back a card as a "thank-you." What?? Now you have to send cards for receiving a card? This is why I haven't been sending cards for so long...it's a slippery slope. So I ask my mom if Sis (our aunt) has started some kind of card war with me...after they talk I am told that most assuredly she has not started a card war and to stop being so paranoid. But one of them lied and I am not convinced that it isn't both of them. Last night in my mailbox....another card from Sis saying that she's ahead. What? So thus, Card War 2007 has begun, and let me assure you that I will win this. If I have to buy the dirtiest, nastiest card that Lovers Package has, I will put a stop to this. I don't have time to dedicate to a card war with her!! :)

Work yesterday was insanity. It was one of the only days that I can recall that I felt guilty leaving my desk to go to the bathroom or leave for 15 minutes to go get some lunch. And then on top of it, I am on call this weekend and of course after this crazy long day...I get paged at 9 pm last night...on a site that isn't mine, on a site that everyone hates, for a problem that, two hours later, we figure out isn't even our problem to fix. ARGH!!

Resist!

Someone brought donuts in for our group this morning. Fortunately, I generally don't crave donuts. Even more fortunately, I was sitting nowhere near them. I did have to go by them a couple times...but a co-worker talked me into giving her the donut I would have eaten. These were all cake donuts, so I wasn't too interested in fighting her for it.

It's been busy at work lately, which is nice.

I hope it's nice and sunny this weekend. Maybe I'll get to go running again.

Weekly Business

So here it is Thursday already. It's been a fast week. Tonight is a work morale event, so that should be fun. Free beer and pizza is always smiled upon.

According to my "unofficial" home scale, I have lost about five pounds this week. I have reached the point in my striving to lose weight, which I also went through last time, where I have become mildly afraid to eat anything that I can't count strictly the calories of, usually because I am at a restaurant or at someone's house/party where such things as "What did you cook that in?" or "Can I see the nutritional information?" cannot be asked. So, on days when I know that such an occasion will occur, I just don't eat, in the hopes that it counteracts any extra calories that I may ingest. In case anyone is planning on staging an intervention: don't worry. I am far from starving myself. It's just a phase. It's not like I am not eating at all...just a lot less. I most likely will also go through the phase where I am afraid not to workout, for similar reasons. Both pass.

In good news, the dress that I was using as a goal to fit back into by my birthday now fits. I hadn't expected that already. So I have revised the goal to be fitting into every one of my cute summer clothes by the summer. That should work.

It has now been a month since I've had soda.
