Card War
I am not a card giver. Unless a card is so perfect or so funny that I can't resist, I generally just don't get them. And since I rarely peruse the card aisle, the chances of me finding the perfect card is slim to none. I know this is disappointing to people and as a result, I rarely get cards from family...even for my birthday! So one of my resolutions for the new year was to start sending out cards more often. The first family birthday of the year was my great-aunt. I found a funny cat card, which was perfect since she loves cats, and sent it off. A couple weeks later she sent me back a card as a "thank-you." What?? Now you have to send cards for receiving a card? This is why I haven't been sending cards for so long...it's a slippery slope. So I ask my mom if Sis (our aunt) has started some kind of card war with me...after they talk I am told that most assuredly she has not started a card war and to stop being so paranoid. But one of them lied and I am not convinced that it isn't both of them. Last night in my mailbox....another card from Sis saying that she's ahead. What? So thus, Card War 2007 has begun, and let me assure you that I
will win this. If I have to buy the dirtiest, nastiest card that Lovers Package has, I will put a stop to this. I don't have time to dedicate to a card war with her!! :)
Work yesterday was insanity. It was one of the only days that I can recall that I felt guilty leaving my desk to go to the bathroom or leave for 15 minutes to go get some lunch. And then on top of it, I am on call this weekend and of course after this crazy long day...I get paged at 9 pm last night...on a site that isn't mine, on a site that everyone hates, for a problem that, two hours later, we figure out isn't even our problem to fix. ARGH!!
