Shopping

So I am trying to kill some time this afternoon and I went shopping for a birthday dress. I', finding all kinds of other clothes that I want to buy...but no dress, which is really annoying. I don't have anything specific in mind for what I want, but everything that I've tried on isn't right.Skirts seem to be the thing right now and I suppose a skirt wouldn't kill me, but there's something about a Birthday Dress that is so appealing. I suppose it would help if I knew what or if anything was going on on my birthday. Keely and I are spending the day together, but that's all I have plans for. Sigh.

It's really hot today.

I have a trunk full of Goodwill stuff. That will be nice to get out of my house.

Failing Memory

This afternoon I go to Star Wars. I am driving myself crazy lately because I can't remember who I went with to see the last one. Tim says it wasn't him. I wasn't dating anyone at the time (I don't think) besides, I rarely get to go to movies for dates anyway. Was it Keely? I doubt that because we didn't go to that many movies and Star Wars doesn't seem like her thing anyway. Did I go alone? I don't like going to movies alone, so I doubt that. Who the hell was it?? I know it wasn't Judy or Suganthi. I don't have that many friends!! I remember talking about it with Erich...so I was working in the lab at that time. If someone knows, for the love of God, please tell me.

Cleaning the House

Okay folks. I'm really going to do it. You know how some people have comfort food? (Mine is mashed potatoes.) I also have "comfort clothes." Now that I think about it, I have two: the black dress, but since that really isn't house cleaning appropriate, I am turning to my other, which is my denim overalls. Yes, "the overalls." They're too big for me now, but I feel happy in them. And I need all the help I can get. :) Hair is back (albeit dirty). Stereo is adequately packed with cds. Nothing left to do but clean. I have already taken a nap and walked to a friend's house to procrastinate. So. Time to clean. Next time you hear from me, this place will be immaculate.

Weekend Plans

Sigh...I was going to go to Pike's Market with a friend on Sunday but due to a huge work project (not on my end), it's been postponed. I was kinda looking forward to it; I haven't been to the market in ages. I bet all the fresh flower booths are out now. Oh well. At least I can go work out now.

I will clean the house this weekend.

Oh, I just realized that this weekend is the U-District street fair. It's all coming back to me...last year I was in an internal panic as I walked around it. :)

Optimism

When I chose my clothes today, I decided on my denim miniskirt and a t-shirt (the I Do My Own Stunts one) and sandals in hopes that it would get nice today. Sadly, my optimism was too much for Mother Nature to bear...it's now pouring rain outside. Argh.

They had a brown bag at work today on nutrition. They provided the lunch, so I went. It wasn't really any information that I didn't already know and it had a slant toward the whole foods, organic lifestyle. The lady is a chiropractor (as is her husband) with a practice in Kirkland. I think what the presentation was, though, was a clever marketing ploy to get people to go to their business. She didn't really talk about chiropracty all that much, so it was subtle, but at the end of the presentation she passed out free passes for a consultation. Clever. I don't know how I feel about chiropracty. I know people that swear by it and I know someone who had a stroke during a session. I know more people that are pleased than not, so perhaps it's not such a bad thing. I don't know if I'll go, though. What if I like it and then that's yet another thing I have to pay for. Dangerous. :)

Only a little over a week until Keely arrives!

Two weeks from today is my birthday. (hint, hint)

A Work in Progress

I was able to work on the novel today. A couple days ago I wrote one scene and today I did some switcharoo with scenes. I moved a scene up to right after it but then realized I needed more time in between the scenes so I moved the Bainbridge Island scene in between. I like that order. For now at least. I thought it was okay before. :) I have this idea for song lyrics, just a line, to lead off each chapter. Today I had the thought that it might be kind of cool when the book comes out to release it with a cd that has the complete songs. There are a multitude of reasons why that won't work. But it's a nifty idea. Maybe I'll have to wait fro a soundtrack for when the movie rights are purchased and the movie is made. :)

Today is Better

Today, I feel better. Nothing has really changed, but I decided to just feel better for now. Nothing I can realy do at this exact moment. Well, I guess I could do something. Anyway.

Cleaned my bedroom. Was tired of grey kitty hair all over my sheets so I washed them and made the bed. I love a clean bed. I have a pretty bed. A lot of pillows.

I wrote a scene in the book yesterday. That was a good feeling, the feeling that not only accomplishment can bring, but also catharsis.

Going to walk around Greenlake tonight. Left work early and came home, this I didn't work out, so I need to burn off some nervous energy.

Real Life

You know what's great about real life? It makes such great material for a novel in progress. :)

Weekend Nonsense

Not too exciting of a weekend, really. Saturday was mostly a lazy day. Got weighed. Bought some new sandals finally. Lazed around the house. Did some laundry. Went over to where Judy was babysitting and watched a movie. It's nice to know people who know people with fabulous houses! Sunday was more of the same, well, at least in the laziness department.

Today, I decided to erradicate all online personals ads that I remember ever having. It's not like I have that many. And it's not for any particular reason other than I don't check them and I am tired of getting e-mail from them. Only one service was ever successful, once, four years ago. Just seems silly.

Had a stress headache last night. Those are not fun, let me tell you. I hate going to sleep with a headache and then waking up with it, too. Argh.

Everything just feels wrong lately. I would like to rewind time back a bit. When I was happy with my job. Happy with everything else. I suppose I should try and look on the brightside. Okay. I still like my apartment. :) And my cat. :)

The Weekend

It was a weird weekend. I won't go into it exactly....suffice it to say that it just was. Let me just say that ignorance really is bliss.

Change of Plans

Ever had one of those days where you thought you knew what was going on and then something that you thought was fairly routine got changed and it kinda messed up your mood? Maybe it's just me. I'm having one of those days. Not even the fact that I am wearing a funny t-shirt is really cheering me.

I am not doing well this week with the eating. Argh. At all.

Interview

I had an interview today downtown. I think it went pretty well. The job was a little different than I expected it to be, but not bad. We'll see how things so.

It's too bad that my cousin Taylor is only turning three years old on Thursday and not five since if she was, it was the perfect Golden Birthday. Five on the fifth day of the fifth month of '05. Somewhere, some child gets to enjoy that, I suppose.

Twenty-five more days until Keely arrives.

I watched The Good Girl tonight. Not a bad movie. A different kind of role for Jennifer Aniston. Jake Gyllenhal is never too hard to look at either. :) I am sending the other two Netflix movies I have back for three new movies. One of them I've had for over a month so I figure that if I haven't watched it then I must not be too jazzed to. The other came last week but I'm not excited. So, maybe if I have some new ones I will be more inclined. The good thing is that I got a lot of knitting done during it. Have only a few weeks to finish the current project.

During the interview today, I was asked if I know HTML and if so what kind of editor I use. When I answered Notepad, the guy hit fists with me. I think that's kind of an odd thing for an interview. Not bad. Just funny. Thank goodness I learned to code the hard way. :)

One More Month!

I realized just now that it's one more month until my birthday! Woohoo!

Only 26 more days until Keely arrives for a visit!

Had a pretty good weekend. Got my hair done so the grey/white doesn't show. Bought some clothes at Evil Old Navy. One of the skirts I will probably wear to my interview tomorrow. Yesterday I went to the Pacific Science Museum with Judy. She's obsessed with tornadoes and wanted to go to the Forces of Nature exhibit. It was a warm day and I got to wear my other new skirt. Ate at one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Seattle, Vincenzos. Granted, I haven't been to too many in Seattle, but still. :)

Had a hard time sleeping last night and kept having strange dreams. The one I remember involved something with Zach Braff and house sitting and all kinds of weird stuff. Always nice to see Zach, but it was odd.

I walked around Greenlake on Saturday night and man were my legs and hips sore yesterday! I definitely need to do that more often. I think part of the problem was that I was wearing my white shoes instead of tennis shoes and I walked basically from my house to Greenlake, then around, and back again. That's roughly five miles. Not bad.
