Computer/Internet Terms

The majority of computer/internet terms, especially acronyms, are capitalized.

HTML SQL Internet
Web site CSS DHTML
XML SGML URL
C++ Java Zine
CD-ROM DVD ASP
TCP/IP DOS HTTP
PC PDF World Wide Web

NOTE: Spell out acronyms the first time, with the acronym in parentheses beside it so that it can be used subsequently.

EXAMPLE: The Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) should be used when creating a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) document. The CSS saves time when a style change is necessary on all the HTML documents.

EXCEPTIONS: Home page is two separate words, lowercase. Newsgroup is one word, lowercase.
